I was mending my bike yesterday when a boy, probably around ten-eleven, walked by. He had a phone which he apparently wanted to show off to everyone, with the typical rap-R&B song on. Did I mention "on full blast"? It was so loud, I could hear every single word the dodgy electric-techno voice was saying (I have my doubts if it was human).
I mean, sure, you're more than welcome to let your folks know what sort of music you are into. But literally forcing it on people - who are complete strangers - is plain disrespectful.
He even turned the volume up. While I was right there beside him, minding my own business.
And let me add: It wasn't even a "good" song.
The worst case scenario is most likely when you're in the elevator with some person having a foreign song in a different language on full blast. The longest elevator-trip ever.
Let's talk about people on the subway, shall we. Why, oh why on Earth, do you put your earphones to the loudest? They are earphones! To be put in your ears! If you want every single person around you to hear your stereotype "love-hate" song, why don't you put it on speaker? (Not that I encourage it.)
I can't imagine what their ears must go through to handle such a ridiculously high volume.
No, I changed my mind: The worst case scenario is when your neighbour is clearly having a party in the middle of the night, with a foreign song on so loud even your pillow shakes to the beat.
P.S. Today is 9th of September, 2009 - 09-09-09. Enjoy your Wednesday.
